NEW YORK STATE ASSOCIATION OF LIBRARY BOARDS

ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING

Saturday, May 3, 2003

Westchester Marriott, Westchester, New York

 

The Organizational Meeting came to order at 1:35 p.m.

 

Directors present: N. Jacknis, N. Simaitis, T. Thompson, D. Strauss, E. Apostol, J. Hurley,           F. Picart, G. Manitzas and J. Sweet. S. Patton, E. Field, B. Taber, J. Provoncha and J. Taylor were excused.  Association Manager Karen Dyer also attended.

 

The Chair of the Nominating Committee, T. Thompson, presented the following slate for election as officers:

                        President                      Norm Jacknis

                        1st Vice President           Tina Thompson

                        2nd Vice President          Erin Apostol

                        Treasurer                       Dick Strauss

                        Secretary                      Jane Sweet

 

A motion to approve the slate was made by J. Hurley, seconded by G. Manitzas; unanimous.

 

A motion to authorize the newly elected President Norman Jacknis, 1st Vice president Tina Thompson, 2nd Vice president Erin Apostol, and Treasurer Dick Strauss, or any of them acting individually, to sign, endorse or otherwise approve transactions with Nathan and Lewis Securities on behalf of the corporation, was made by D. Strauss, seconded by F. Picart; unanimous.

 

A motion to authorize President Norman Jacknis, 1st Vice president Tina Thompson, 2nd Vice president Erin Apostol, Treasurer Dick Strauss and Association Manager Karen Dyer, or any of them acting individually to sign, endorse or otherwise authorize payments, transfers or withdrawals at Fleet Bank in the name of this corporation, was made by D. Strauss, seconded by F. Picart; unanimous.

 

A motion to adjourn at 1:45 p.m. was made by G. Manitzas, seconded by N. Simaitis; unanimous.
